The Croquet Federation of Belgium

In 1994 two Clubs came into being : the Belgian Croquet Club, near Ghent, and the Brussels Croquet Club at Genval, near Brussels.

Since 1996 these have been part of the 'Croquet Federation of Belgium', founded by Charles-Eric Vilain XIIII and John Swabey to promote the sport in Belgium and to compete internationally.

True to its aim, the Federation has participated in national, European and World Championships, and has organised many international tournaments of its own. Meanwhile more Belgian clubs are appearing, taking a lead from Genval ('the prettiest croquet court in Europe'), where open evenings are held each Monday in summer.

Like Genval, no doubt, they will offer a pleasant mix of Belgian and English cultures, and a great way to make local friendships.
